    In Brussels, a man was shot dead on Thursday evening at the Chez Ova café, near the Koekelberg town hall. The victim, a 33-year-old man of Moroccan origin named Soufiane El Arroub, was shot at around 10 p.m. Emergency services tried to revive him, but to no avail.

    Police were alerted by local residents who heard several gunshots. A suspect was arrested in another municipality. The public prosecutor's office opened an investigation and an investigating judge was on the scene. The victim is known to the law and had previously served a prison sentence for his involvement in the Paris attacks of November 13, 2015.

    According to local sources, the victim is well-known in the area and frequents the café. The owner of another nearby café says: “He was always calm when he came to drink his coffee during the day, but in the evening I don’t know what he does.”

    The gunman allegedly fired several times, with one bullet hitting the victim in the neck. According to HLN The victim was an acquaintance of Chez Ova and had allegedly caused problems with the owner on several occasions. The shooter is said to be Mohamed, the 55-year-old owner of the cafe.
