Man (22 years old) shot in Petonicastraat Street; Police arrest two suspects

On the evening of Friday 23 August, at approximately 8:43 p.m., police were alerted to a shooting incident on Petonicastraat Street. A 22-year-old man, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, managed to reach a house on the street to seek help. Police immediately dispatched several units to the scene, and an ambulance was also called.
When police arrived, they gathered initial information from the victim. The man stated that two vehicles – a silver sedan and a black SUV – stopped and several men got out and opened fire on the group he was in.
The citizen was shot in the body and was given first aid at the scene, then transferred to the hospital for treatment. His condition is described as stable.

Shortly after the incident, a motorcycle patrol and K-9 unit spotted a silver Getz that caught their attention. When they tried to stop the vehicle for inspection, the driver decided to flee, hitting two cars and heading toward the roundabout at Pos Chiquito. Police were able to stop the vehicle, after which four men jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Police arrested two of them. A firearm was also found in the vehicle and the vehicle was impounded for further investigation.
