The United States has adopted a new nuclear strategy that, according to the New York Times (NYT), targets China for the first time. President Joe Biden is said to have already approved the top-secret document in March.

For the first time, the White House is seriously considering multiple nuclear powers uniting against the United States, The New York Times reported.

Previous nuclear strategies, which are reviewed every four years, have focused largely on Russia. Four years ago, China was mentioned, but because of the rapid growth of China’s nuclear arsenal, that country now takes center stage in the document.

Moreover, for the first time, the White House is seriously considering that several nuclear powers are uniting against the United States, the New York Times writes. This mainly concerns Russia, China and North Korea. These countries are moving closer to each other, and, like Beijing, Pyongyang has significantly increased the number of nuclear weapons in recent years.
