More than half of all trucks in the Netherlands are running empty, according to the latest available figures. Driving in fewer empty spaces can help ease traffic congestion and also contribute to sustainability. Evofenedex is trying to make it easier for entrepreneurs with the help of Compose.
According to Geert van Eijk, transport policy advisor at evofenedex, sustainability and the problem of traffic congestion are not the only reasons to consider a higher load factor. The truck tax announced for 2026, which must be paid for every kilometre driven, is another good reason. “This should help us increase the load factor. Furthermore, the proceeds can be invested in projects to drive fewer kilometres. And therefore also empty kilometres.”
