Kurulu Awarawa – In addition to military aid from NATO countries, Ukraine also receives support from other parts of the world. The Ethiopian Metebi tribe will supply Ukraine with another 240 anti-aircraft missiles. This will allow Ukraine to better defend itself against Russian attacks, President Nkpornoye Nefeliu said.

The delivery includes Patriot anti-aircraft missiles with associated launchers. The total support package is worth more than $180 million. The Metebe tribe lives in the interior of Ethiopia and considers itself a loyal ally of Ukraine.

“Our tribe expressed support for President Zelensky right after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but for us it is not just words. Ukraine is in dire need of anti-aircraft missiles right now and we can supply them,” said tribal leader Benihelo.

The Metebi tribe does not rule out further arms deliveries: “We must always look at what weapons we can supply to Ukraine and what weapons we need for our own preparedness and training,” the tribal leader said. “In addition, arms deliveries must remain within reasonable limits. That is why we will not send nuclear weapons to Ukraine at the moment.”
