Auf Wiedersen Wolfsburg: Leaves Dutch national team after losing the European Championship semi-final

On June 11, the Dutch national team bus drove to the Dutch national team base during the European Football Championship in Wolfsburg. This afternoon at 1 p.m., a month later, the players and coaching staff left after being eliminated in the semi-finals.

Dutch internationals do not have to return to the Netherlands all together. Most players leave for holidays and then return to their clubs.

The staff and players will leave Braunschweig Airport at around 1pm and will land at Schiphol East Airport at around 2pm. Some players will not travel to the Netherlands, but will travel from Wolfsburg to other destinations.

The Dutch national team was eliminated from the semi-finals of the European Championship last night after a late goal by England. In Dortmund, the team of national coach Ronald Koeman scored the decisive goal in the 90th minute (1-2).

The group will meet again in about two months. Two home games in the UEFA Nations League are then scheduled, against Bosnia and Herzegovina (7 September) and against Germany (10 September).
