A 23-year-old man from the Hermagor region recently encountered an unexpected problem with his financial app: unknown perpetrators had gained access to his account in a previously unknown way.

On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, a young man from the Hermagor region reported to the local police. He reported that unknown perpetrators had gained access to his financial app, which contained several thousand euros worth of cryptocurrencies. The victim was then no longer able to access the app.
The application has been banned.
The exact method by which the perpetrators gained access is currently unknown and is the subject of ongoing investigations. The affected platform and Austrian financial services provider immediately responded and blocked the app to prevent further damage.
