Investigators are talking about Biggest strike against cybercriminals: In a coordinated multi-country operation, more than 100 servers were seized and 1,300 domains were deactivated worldwide.

This was announced by the Frankfurt am Main Public Prosecutor's Office and the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) on Thursday morning. Austrian authorities also participated in the operation.

Seven people are being searched

According to the information, ten international arrest warrants were issued and four people were temporarily arrested as part of the procedures coordinated by the German authorities. Many of the most influential malware families have now been removed. This is a special program that can be used to access other people's computers with criminal intent. Germany issued arrest warrants for eight actors.

On this basis, investigators said, a search is underway for seven people who are strongly suspected of “participating as members of a criminal organization for the purpose of spreading the Trickbot malware.”

Searches in Armenia, Netherlands, Portugal and Ukraine

According to the information, during the operation on Tuesday and Wednesday, searches were conducted for a total of 16 objects in Armenia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Ukraine, during which many pieces of evidence were seized. The captured data is currently being evaluated and could lead to further investigations.

Prosecutors from the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Great Britain, Austria and the United States of America participated in the operation. They were supported by the police authority Europol and the European Union Agency for Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters.
