On Friday evening, around 100 emergency services from the fire department, rescue service and water rescue service went out in a large-scale operation in Bodenwohr (Schwandorf district) – a rescue helicopter was also deployed. Your Apple Watch triggered an alarm.

About 100 emergency services were called to make an emergency call in the so-called Neuer Weiher near Turesbach in the municipality of Bodenwöhr on Thursday around 8pm after the Apple Watch raised an alarm. A rescue helicopter was also used. He first searched the pond using a flashlight because emergency services assumed many people were in distress.

Ultimately, the operation was canceled after the Apple Watch owner was safely reached. Fire brigades from Neuenburg, Bodenwohr and Bingarten were on duty under the direction of Joseph Seitz, commander of the Bingarten fire brigade. Water rescue teams from Neuenburg, Bodenwohr, Netenau, Schwandorf and Bürlingenfeld were on the scene under the command of Andreas Fuchs. The rescue service was there with a rescue helicopter, four ambulances, two emergency doctors and the on-site assistant from Neuenburg under the supervision of Marco Sperl.
