An oil tanker caught fire after a missile struck off the coast of Yemen on Friday. The Trafigura operator reports this command to BBC. The Houthis previously claimed that they fired a missile at a ship. The crew will be safe.

A Trafigura spokesman told the newspaper: “Crew safety is our top priority.” BBC. According to the company, military ships are on their way to the British oil tanker.

It is also said that a naval vessel in the area responded to a distress call from the ship earlier. There will be no injuries. He added: “We are in contact with the ship and are closely monitoring the situation.”

According to the spokesman, a cargo tank on the right side was on fire. Firefighting equipment on board is used to extinguish it.

Possibly the British oil tanker Marlin Luanda. The ship was hit in the Gulf of Aden. The Houthis say they used several missiles to target the oil tanker.

The Houthis have increasingly attacked ships with drones and missiles in the Gulf of Aden in recent months. These types of incidents also occur frequently in the Red Sea. The rebels do this to show support for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

At first they only attacked Israeli ships and vessels heading to and from Israel. But since the US-British attacks on the Houthis in Yemen that began two weeks ago, the rebels have also been targeting ships from those countries.
