US and British forces carried out another joint attack on Houthi targets in Yemen on Monday. It is still unclear what the damage is and whether there have been any deaths.

The US Department of Defense says the two countries targeted an underground warehouse, missiles and other military capabilities of the Houthis. It involves eight different attacks.

The British Ministry of Defense also confirmed that countries carried out several attacks against the Houthis. The news agency said that British aircraft used precision-guided bombs to strike multiple targets near the airport of the capital, Sanaa Reuters In a joint statement.

The countries said: “These precision strikes aim to disrupt and weaken the capabilities used by the Houthis to threaten global trade and the lives of innocent sailors.” The Netherlands, Canada, Australia and Bahrain also supported the recent military action, the statement said.

British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said the attacks were carried out in self-defence. “This action will deal a further blow to their limited supplies and their ability to threaten global trade,” Shapps said.

The Houthis have been attacking ships in the Red Sea with drones and missiles since late last year, as a sign of support for Hamas and the Palestinians. The attacks disrupted international trade on the main route between Europe and Asia. About 15 percent of global freight traffic passes through this route. These attacks fueled fears of global inflation.
