In Morocco, administrative sanctions were imposed on many teachers by the regional branches of the Ministry of National Education due to their ongoing protests against the new public situation.

After eleven weeks of continuous strikes, the Ministry took the necessary measures. A decision was issued to temporarily suspend a number of teachers who were on strike due to “failure to fulfill their professional and educational obligations, repeated and unjustified absences, depriving students of the right to stable and continuous education, and failure to adhere to professional values and ethics in accordance with the statute.” “Standards applied in the education system.” Your people.

These violations are considered serious from the point of view of the regional directorates, in line with Article 73 of the General Regulations for Public Service. For this reason, the temporary suspension is accompanied by the suspension of salary, with the exception of family allowances. The situation of the teachers involved will be analyzed by a disciplinary board before the punishment is lifted within a maximum period of four months.

After this period, the official can receive his full salary again, even if the council does not take a decision against him. He may also demand a refund of the amounts withheld from his salary if no penalty such as a warning, reprimand, or removal from the promotion list is imposed on him. However, if he faces criminal charges, getting his full salary back will depend on a court decision.
