Samsung is updating the camera assistant module for its Galaxy phones. The update brings new functionality as well as changes to the camera on different Galaxy models. In the video you can see what is possible using the GoodLock app on the Z Flip 5.
Samsung has released an update for the Camera Assistant module in the Good Lock app. This update adds new camera features on models like the Galaxy S23 series, including the S23 FE, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4 , Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip.
Update requires One UI 5.1 or later.
These are the new features
New features include “Upscale Digital Zoom,” which captures low-resolution images by enlarging and upscaling them to a user-specified resolution. Another function is “Distortion Correction”, which automatically corrects distortion caused by lens and perspective distortion.
With the update, Samsung changed the name of the “Optical Quality Crop Zoom” feature to “2x Crop Zoom Shortcut.” This makes it possible to take 2x zoom images without data loss using the main camera on phones with high-resolution sensors. The camera speed option is no longer available in Camera Assistant, but has been moved to the regular camera settings with One UI 6.

For some devices like the Galaxy S23 Ultra, there is now a new menu for “High Resolution Settings” where “Upscale Digital Zoom” is. This menu also includes a toggle for “Adaptive Pixels,” which reduces noise in low-light shots by blending multiple low-resolution frames into the final high-resolution image.

The Camera Assistant module gives users more control over photos and videos on Galaxy phones. It allows you to adjust or disable settings that cannot be changed using the regular camera app.
