The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the 27 Dutch citizens in Gaza and their immediate family members of the possibility of opening the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.

“There are reports that infected people and/or foreigners may leave Gaza,” the ministry writes, offering assistance.

For security reasons, not all details are published. It is not known whether the Dutch can actually leave the Gaza Strip.

Egypt announced on Tuesday that the border crossing would open on Wednesday to transport dozens of wounded Palestinians. They will receive medical assistance in Egypt. More than two hundred trucks carrying humanitarian aid have arrived through this corridor in recent days.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported that it is in close contact with international partners regarding reports regarding the opening of borders.
