Whatsapp: new icon in chat
WhatsApp is constantly updating its messaging app. The beta version of WhatsApp 2.23.21.12 for Android is currently available in the Google Play Store – and as WABetaInfo experts reported, users can already test the new feature there. Suddenly a new button is available to users.
If you want to enter something in the message line in a WhatsApp chat, you can use the paperclip icon on the right to send attachments. Whether it’s a photo, document, or audio file. Surveys, locations, or contacts can also be shared via it. But now a completely new icon appears there.
Pink circle with white calendar icon – This should now allow you to schedule messages for a specific date. For example, as a reminder of a specific event. The feature, which as I said is still in beta, is probably only limited to group chats. Such reminders can be particularly practical there – for example when it comes to raising money in time for a birthday present.

Nothing works without updating
The only drawback: If someone shares such an event in a group chat where not all participants have the latest version of WhatsApp, the users behind it have to act quickly. Instead of a message, you will only see a note in the chat that you should update WhatsApp immediately so you can read what your colleagues have to tell you.
It is not yet known when the feature will move from beta to “normal” WhatsApp operation.
