The Windows+C key combination has been reserved for Microsoft’s Cortana assistant for a while. But hardly anyone used it – the abbreviation would soon acquire a new meaning.
It is almost certainly the most frequently used keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V To copy and paste content. This works in almost every interface and saves a lot of time – and it makes sense that almost everyone uses it.
However, with the advent of AI functionality in Windows, a new shortcut could find its way into many users’ daily lives. However, there is currently still a small catch.

The AI function naturally refers to Microsoft Copilot in Windows 11. This is intended to act as a central assistant in the operating system. Although this is currently only available to Windows Insiders, every user will be able to access it for the foreseeable future.
The tool aims to simplify a number of tasks for you in the future, including:
- Combine emails and documents
- Provide quick responses to emails
- Automatically create presentations
- Data evaluation
- Read texts aloud
- Analyze and visualize Excel tables
- Help with programming
- Generate images using Dall-E
- Remove background from photos
It is convenient for Windows Copilot to start running with the new version Windows shortcut + C. If you look at the planned range of functions, this could develop into one of the most important key combinations.
But this major group is by no means new. In Windows 10, for example, this was still used to invoke Cortana – but that functionality has been shelved. For those who don’t want to use shortcuts, there’s also a button with the Copilot icon in the taskbar.
