    Dusseldorf The foundry mechanic never expected Volkan Ozmen to become one of the pioneers in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) at Mercedes. But he spent nine months studying programming languages, machine learning, and data protection two days a week. The 32-year-old now works as a Data Specialist for Dax Group.

    Ozmen took the opportunity to train more. “I wanted to forge my own destiny,” he says of his transition from workshop to office work. It now collects huge amounts of data from control and monitoring systems, through which artificial intelligence collects the most important information to manage the field of electricity and electronics production.

    Whether it’s a data-driven factory or AI models like Chat GPT in the office – AI is fundamentally changing our daily work. A survey of more than 300 human resource managers conducted by the German Association for Personnel Management (DGFP) showed that 56 percent of those surveyed plan to train their employees in the use of artificial intelligence.
