Lieutenant General ( Retired) C N Somanna passed absent on 4:00 pm Saturday, June 13. Somanna, 92, was a single of the oldest surviving veterans in the district was identified for his valour who was down by age-linked illnesses handed absent at his home in Virajpet. His funeral will be held now, June 14 at 1:00 pm at his hometown, Coorg.

Right after the tragic news of CN Somanna’s dying surfaced, condolences begun to pour in. Normal Ved Malik tweeted, “Salute! An exemplary chief, Typical Somanna was an epitome of military services values and traditions. Very pleased to have commanded as corps as him.
Bengaluru Law enforcement Commissioner Bhaskar Rao, IPS, also paid his respect and tweeted, “Extremely Tragic Folded arms As SP Kodagu, I have experienced the possibility of assembly Gen Somanna many instances at his Estate at the turning of Virajpete… incredibly hospitable and warm-hearted. They are icons of Patriotism, Indomitable Bravery and Leadership. Lessons to be learnt from their Lifetime”
