Nassau/New York The founder and former head of the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, has agreed to turn over the Bahamas to the United States, according to two of his lawyers. There he was accused of fraud. Reuters learned of the decision from Crystal Rolle on Monday, and her colleague Jerron Roberts spoke to The New York Times. Both attorneys practice in the Bahamas. Details of the US representatives of Fred Pinkman and the US Attorney’s Office were initially unavailable.

FTX filed for bankruptcy protection on November 11th after clients withdrew their funds en masse in response to the secretive move of $10 billion in deposits. Bankman Fried resigned as president the same day. He has apologized to customers but denied allegations of fraud. The collapse of FTX has shaken the crypto world.
