The Kremlin holds Ukraine responsible for the attack on two air bases in central Russia. The goal was to destroy long-haul aircraft. However, the damage appears to be limited.

According to the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed of incidents at two air bases of the Russian Armed Forces in the Saratov and Ryazan regions of central Russia. “The president regularly receives incoming information from the relevant authorities about everything that is going on,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. He stated that any further questions should be directed to the Ministry of Defense.

Russia accuses Ukraine of being responsible for the attacks. Previously, Kyiv had already indicated participation.

In Ukraine, the events are mentioned in passing. “If something is shot down in the airspace of other countries, sooner or later, unidentified flying objects will return to the starting point,” Ukrainian presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolak wrote in a tweet.

The Russian army confirmed the killing of three soldiers and the wounding of four others. However, the long-range bombers suffered only minor damage, thanks to the use of anti-aircraft defenses.

This afternoon Russia launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine. While Kyiv later declared that most of the missiles had been intercepted, Moscow declared the attack a success. “The target of the strike has been achieved. All 17 designated targets have been hit.” The information cannot be independently verified.
