Will Google Stadia be shutting down in the next few months? According to the tech company, this claim is not true. Instead, work continues to bring “cool games” to the platform.

Google Stadia: It Won't Shut Down, Google Confirms After False Rumor

A rumor has circulated in the past few days that Google Stadia will be disabled by the end of the summer. This claim comes from a Facebook group by user “Donny Jepp”, who allegedly had contact with a Google employee. Then Twitter user “Killed by Google” picked up the trend:

    The rumors were already circulating

He’d like to learn: At a seminar in California, the tech company was said to have discussed a plan to exit the streaming service. So it is planned to shut down Google Stadia by the end of the summer. Anyway, this assumption was made and discussed on both Reddit and Twitter.

Because of these rumors, a Twitter user personally asked Google. Indeed, it was there shortly afterwards Answerwhich reads: “Stadia will not be shutting down. Rest assured we’re always working on bringing more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro. Fire us up now if you have any questions.”

In both cases, the Facebook user’s statements were inconclusive. Compare the alleged shutdown to the end of Google Play Music, after which users are notified a month or two. However, users of the music service had several months to switch to YouTube Music. In addition, subscribers should not be transferred to another platform, which was the case with GPM.

There will be a few releases of the game after summer anyway. For example, “FIFA 23” will release on September 30, and will be available alongside Stadia for all consoles and PC.

    Additional Google Stadia news:

In addition to the above answer, Google Stadia has created its own Twitter post. In it, the officials demonstrated the humor and parodies described by the rumors. So, after a lengthy seminar in California, the company made a momentous decision: “Long story short, you can now play Wavetale on Stadia Pro at no additional cost until August 1st.”
