Through its “Spotify for Work” program, Spotify wants to give companies an extra incentive system for employees — and to oblige other users to their own service. Companies can enter into a framework agreement with the Swedish music streaming service via Spotify for Work.

For work and private

In return, the company can offer its employees their own premium account. On the one hand, Spotify for Work is meant to be a small extra incentive system, and on the other hand, it should help employees at work by enabling them to better focus on them while working with soothing music in the background. The premium account provided can be used individually and can also be used privately by employees. There are no restrictions compared to a traditional Premium account with Spotify. It remains to be seen if employees can stick with the company by offering a premium account to Spotify or if they initially decide in its favour.

Service begins with Accenture

Spotify is initially launching the service with consulting firm Accenture, which wants to provide Spotify accounts to its employees in Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania. However, the program is in principle open to all businesses of all sizes, according to Spotify. Interested companies can contact Spotify via email at spotifyforwork ~~ spotify.com to learn more about the terms and to express interest in participating.

Increase the share of super users

If several large companies can be won in the program, then Spotify can, above all, increase the number of premium accounts and publicize this prestigious in the quarterly figures. In the first quarter of this year, Spotify managed to increase this by 15 percent compared to the same period last year and did not have to announce a decrease in the number of users like Netflix, but with 180 million premium users, they make up less than half of the total of 422 million Spotify user.
