Pictures appeared on social media showing the recently destroyed and burned-out Antonov An-225.

The An-225, the largest aircraft in the world, was destroyed in heavy fighting at the strategic cargo airport Hostomel, near Kyiv. After much speculation about the condition of the aircraft, Ukrainian authorities confirmed on Sunday that the An-225 had indeed been destroyed. The plane was named “Mriya” (“Dream”), which soon became a symbol of self-defense of Ukraine. “We will rebuild the plane.
