any Say Musk, after Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhailo Fyodorov asked him for help.

According to Ukraine, Internet services were disrupted in several places in the country due to the Russian invasion. There are frequent communication problems, especially in the east and west of the country, where heavy fighting is taking place.

“While trying to colonize Mars, Russia is trying to occupy Ukraine,” Deputy Prime Minister Fyodorov wrote to Musk on Twitter. “We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and we ask reasonable Russians to stand up.” Musk responded that Starlink is “now operating in Ukraine”. Thousands of Internet satellites

With Starlink, SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space company, eventually wants to deliver the Internet around the world via a constellation of thousands of satellites. Ultimately, the use of satellites should allow customers to access the Internet anytime and anywhere, even in the middle of the ocean or in the desert.

Since it was first launched in 2019, about 2,000 satellites have been launched into orbit. SpaceX eventually plans to expand that to at least 12,000 and possibly even 42,000.

Starlink has been active in the first countries since last year, including the Netherlands.
