Thanks to Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan Happiness Drive Thru visitors, Amor Vitae Foundation in Suriname delivered 100 food packages to families in need on January 9. The donation is made possible in part with proceeds from the Palmentuin driving event.

The latest Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan Happiness Drive through the Paramaribo Historic Site was the first drive-by event by the Surinamese Fernandes Bottling Company. Traditionally, the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan ends with a happy stop, as it was previously held in the old Flag Square.

Enthusiasts were also looking forward to experiencing the old school games, entertainment, and the chance to take a beautiful picture of Christmas in 2021. Taking into account the measures surrounding Covid-19, a safe and interactive event was held in Palmentuin from December 20-23. Beloved elements are kept in a fresh design.

Thanks to the visitors and their generous donations, 50,684 Saudi riyals were collected. Fernandes Bottling management has donated SAR 50,566 on top of this. Amor Vitay Foundation will use SAR 101,250 to provide families with food through the temporary food bank.

Amor Vitae has been working with the pop-up food bank in various neighborhoods since 2020; Where families in need are provided with a package of basic commodities. Chairman Jill Ijk, Treasurer Natachja Robles and Secretary Steven Sejb received the donation on Friday, January 7. With a donation, more than 400 packages will be configured in the days when the pop-up food bank will be active in January and February 2022.

On Sunday, January 9th, the Foundation presented the first 100 packs in Quata. The head of the foundation says: “We are very grateful for this donation, as it shows that our activities are being seen. The support gives us the spirit to continue the project.” The Amor Vitae Foundation will inform the community via its Facebook page about the locations of the pop-up food bank to be announced at a later time.
