Nasser Jabbour, an expert from the National Institute of Geophysics, said in a statement to a map The area in which the governorates of Nador, Driouch and Al Hoceima are located has long been characterized by seismic activity. “For nearly 30 years, the region has been subject to irregular earthquakes. The expert explains that the Earth’s crust consists of several plates that are constantly moving. An earthquake is a shocking shaking or movement of the Earth’s crust, which is caused by the tensions between the Earth’s plates. This is a “natural phenomenon”.
