According to Blue Origin, anyone who pays for it will be able to fly to the space station. The company reminds researchers, but also commercial customers. “Sophisticated space agencies, high-tech associations, countries without space programmes, media and travel companies, entrepreneurs and investors all have a place in Orbital Reef,” said a Blue Origin press release.

This describes the space station as a “mixed-use business complex”. There is also talk of a “one-person spacecraft,” a spacecraft in which tourists can take trips into space.

Blue Origin is fully committed to space tourism in order to make up for a portion of its launches. Recently, Bezos himself went into space. Blue Origin also transported actor William Shatner, better known as Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek, into space. Through this, the company wants to gain brand awareness and attract more wealthy people who want to go into the space.

The space station’s construction is also supported by Boeing Aircraft and Space, among other things. In addition, the American University of Arizona State University is involved in the project.
