The changes are coming from January 1, 2022 in mobile, according to a circular from AADE.

Some of the upcoming changes are that the mobile rate and prepaid phone fee will be reduced to 10% while the mobile fee for citizens up to the age of 29 will be completely eliminated.

In detail, this post states the following:

    i) the charges imposed, in the interest of the State, on mobile subscribers, for the circumstances (a) of Paragraph 1 of Article 12 of Law 2579/1998 (A 31), which are borne by subscribers of organizations providing mobile telephone services services, calculated before VAT , at 10% on each monthly account per connection, instead of the current scale of 12%-20%,

    b) the fee levied in favor of the State on prepaid subscribers, in case (b) of Article 12 Paragraph 1 of Law 2579/1998 (A 31), at 10% on the value of the talk time for prepaid telephone operators, instead of the current rate of 12 %.

This fee is calculated on the value of airtime or communication time provided, regardless of how it was awarded, before VAT.

    3) The above rates are set at 0%, for natural persons between the ages of 15 and 29, and cover those who within each year of application have completed their fourteenth year of their age by December 31 of the previous year and have not completed their thirtieth year. From their age up to this date, i.e. for 2022, the zero rate applies to communications or prepaid cards for persons who by December 31, 2021 have reached the age of 14 and have not completed 30 years at the same time.

    Mobile phone changes

A special mobile platform is coming

For this purpose, a special application is created that can be accessed through a single digital portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr-EIP).

The zero rate is applied to one contact or one prepaid card per beneficiary after completing the registration in the request of the beneficiaries or their guardian in the case of minors, from the first invoice in the case of contract or from the next renewal of the talking time in the case of prepaid contact.

The provisions of this Article 59 cover bills issued, airtime cards or call-time cards, and renewals activated by consumers from January 1, 2022 onwards.
