A stunning ice statue of a lion appeared on the roof at Anspachlaan in Brussels on Tuesday. The creator of the snow lion that has attracted so much attention turns out to be a homeless man from Morocco.

A reader of BRUZZ informed the editors of the newspaper. “Everyone who passed by and asked to take pictures was affected, some of us were affected. We were astonished and astonished to see the man responsible for this creation.”

Moroccan Suleiman Al-Wahhabi came from Brussels to Brussels two years ago as part of the family reunion. After setbacks, he ended up on the street. He liked working as an artist or gardener.

Solomon tells how he learned to make ice sculptures. “In Morocco, I lived in a village called the Moroccan Switzerland (Ifrane). I always got up at 4 in the morning to start making sculptures in the snow. The local newspapers and TV followed me. But since I was in Belgium, I carry a lot of luggage, and when I ended up in the street, I thought: I must keep doing something to appeal to people.

Al-Wahhabi often paints in the Royal Gallery and at the Grand Place. In Samusocial he depicts his injured mates, and now that the snow is starting to fall again, he can use his skill to build ice sculptures again. “I definitely want to do sculptures in the coming days, if I find enough snow,” he told Prose. “If people can give me advice, I promise I can make pretty pictures. I can make anything you want.”
