An expert on nuclear energy Olga Kocharnaya admitted that Energoatom can hide the emergency in Khmelnitsky NPP Power Unit No. 2.
Nuclear energy expert Olga Krnaya said on Facebook that the power unit No. 2 in Khmelnytskyi NPP has been deactivated by the emergency protection system.
“Why is Energoatom silent because the automatic protection in the KhNPP-2 power unit has succeeded today. How to write victorious reports on reducing the repair period of KhNPP-2 for a whole month will not rust behind it. – Silence”, – said the expert.
She admitted that Energoatom could hide the emergency in Khmelnytsky NPP No. 2 power unit.
“Will it be like ZNPP-5, when a leak was discovered on January 7 in the primary circuit of the steam generator and was not included in the statistics of the violations?” – The expert added.
On the official websites of NNEGC “Energoatom” and Khmelnytsky NPP, as of midday February 13, no data on the emergency shutdown of the unit were published.
According to the Razumkov Center, the failure of the reform drive in nuclear power plants in the summer of 2020 led to an overload on thermal power plants. The increased load on TPPs increased the accident rate of coal fired power units, and also led to an accelerated depletion of coal reserves.
