Navalny is also a vocal critic of President Putin. At the end of November, the current Russian government described the European Parliament as a “gang of criminals” who had temporarily seized power.

More than three months ago, Navalny escaped death when poisoned. The politician was rushed to a hospital in Omsk in August after becoming a patient on a flight from Tomsk in Siberia to Moscow.

Two days later, he was taken to a hospital in Berlin, where doctors discovered that he had been poisoned by the nerve agent Novichok. He was discharged from hospital at the end of September. Several European leaders condemned Russia for poisoning. Russia denies any involvement.

    Navalny returns

Navalny plans to return to Russia tomorrow for the first time since his poisoning. You will likely land at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. “Russia is my country, Moscow is my city, I miss it,” he wrote on Instagram announcing his return this week.

The Moscow Prisons Service has warned Navalny that he will be arrested upon arrival. All kinds of cases were filed against him in his home country.

The prison administration wants Navalny to be arrested for failing to adhere to the 2014 suspended sentence; Navalny wouldn’t have hit prison much last year. So he has to be in prison for 3.5 years, according to the authority.
