World Championships in AthleticsThe Dutch women’s relay reached the 4x400m final at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade for the second time. Leakey Claver, Evelyn Salberg, Andrea Puma, and Lisan de Witt did this in a time of 3.29.36. Only Team USA was faster: 3.28.82.

Fimk Paul survived the final match which will take place at 7:40 PM.

Liam van der Schaaf reached the semi-finals in the 60m hurdles. With his time of 7.72, he did not finish in the top three in his heat. But van der Schaaf was one of the six fastest to join the eighteen directly ranked athletes.

With his time, van der Schaaf equaled his best. The semi-finals begin at 5:05 p.m.

As expected, the Dutch also reached the final in the 4×400 metres. Isaiah Bourse, Nick Smedt, Jochem Daubert and Tony Van Diepen came fourth: 3.07.64. The Dutch won the silver at the Tokyo Olympics last summer behind the United States team.

The Americans missed the final match that Spain qualified for in the best time (3.06.98). The Czech and Belgium teams were faster than the Dutch teams. The men’s final is the finale of the world title fight at 7.55pm.

The Netherlands, like the women’s European champions, is also absent from Limarvin Bonifacia, who had to retire shortly before the World Cup with a hamstring injury.
