With flaminGO.pics, the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF) is launching an online search platform on Wednesday where you can find out how Flemish films can be watched legally. Using the search engine, you can discover any streaming platform, in which cinemas or at which film festival the movie you are looking for is shown.

The acronym flaminGO stands for “Flanders in 1Go Movies”. Through the search engine, the VAF is trying to answer “questions about the availability of Flemish feature films and documentaries that it regularly receives from expats, representation abroad, courses in Dutch language and literature or film lovers,” it said on Wednesday. After the launch of flaminGO.pics, the currently available Flemish films have been set in the largest number of countries and regions.

    Belgian movie around the world

Of all the Flemish documentaries, Sofie Benoot’s Desert Haze is available in most places, in 175 countries and territories to be exact. With 169 countries and territories, “North Sea, Texas” by Pavo Devorn is the most widely read Flemish fantasy film. “The Klaus Family” by Matthias Timmermans is the world’s most popular family movie: the movie can be streamed in 81 countries and territories via Netflix.

Outside of Belgium, the largest number of Flemish surnames available online is in the Netherlands, followed by Luxembourg, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Poland and Germany.
