Volkswagen offers more SUV models than you think. With us, T-Roc, Tiguan and Touareg are popular (the latter is no longer supplied in the Netherlands), but in China and the United States, for example, completely different models are sold. Large Volkswagen Atlas (called Terramont in China), Atlas Cross Sport (also called Terramont X), Taos / Tharu, Tyrone, Tyrone X and Nevus.
Volkswagen Tiggo is a “coupe version” of the T-Cross
The latter forms the basis of the Volkswagen Taejo. It stands on the same T-Cross platform and has roughly equal exterior dimensions. What is Taigo’s added value? We have no idea, but Volkswagen has an idea. The brand – who beat the world press with its April 1 joke – says we should see the Taigo as a coupe version of the T-Cross.
Three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 90 or 110 hp
Eight, we won’t get into the discussion anymore. If Volkswagen wanted to see a T-Cross with a rear window slightly tilted like a coupe, it would. Not much is known about the engine options, but we assume that the Taigo will have a 1.0 TSI petrol engine, with either 90 or 110 hp (just like the T-Cross). Volkswagen Taejo will be at Dutch dealers at the end of this year.
