Viaplay and hayu collaborate for more reality TV shows in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands, the live broadcasting service hayu has been active for a few years (go directly to the official website), but from tomorrow the audience of the reality TV catalog will be greatly expanded. Viaplay will add Hayu’s reality shows as part of the subscription immediately after launch on March 1. So the software will be available at no additional cost.
Viaplay announced this in a press release on Monday, February 28, 2022, the day before the video service went live in the Netherlands. Thus, the Formula 1 streaming service focuses on a wide audience by adding both sports and reality. In total, more than 8000 episodes will be broadcast live on March 1, and in the future most of the new series will be broadcast on the same day in the Netherlands as in the United States.

Filippa Wallestam, Chief Content Officer at Viaplay’s parent company NENT Group, commented in a press release: Reality content is hugely popular in the Netherlands, and hayu songs like ‘The Real Housewives’ and ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ are some of the most popular of these. Viaplay will be the only Dutch streaming service to offer hayu at no extra cost to subscribers. Along with Viaplay Originals, Hollywood movies and series, and of course premium live sports, viewers can look forward to a unique and very affordable show starting March 1st.”
Additionally, Hendrik McDermott, Managing Director of NBCUniversal, Direct To Consumer – Global, also said he was happy with the deal: “Europe is an important spearhead in hayu’s continued growth strategy and this exciting partnership with Viaplay in the Netherlands makes it easy for Viaplay subscribers to access hayu’s comprehensive offering of the best American reality TV, without ads.”
Viaplay starts in the Netherlands tomorrow
Viaplay will launch in the Netherlands on March 1, 2022. The Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) streaming service provides a range of international children’s movies, series, sports content, live sports and Viaplay Originals.
