Since yesterday there have been heavy clouds hanging over some ski areas. Temperatures dropped and flakes fell, especially in Switzerland, France and Italy. It's so nice to have such a new layer before the first week of spring break! Are you looking at some snowy webcams?

    Lots of fresh snow

It started snowing yesterday and it continues to snow today. Starting today, the entire southern side of the Alps will get a new layer. Up to 50 centimeters of snow could fall in Italian, Swiss and French ski resorts today alone. As of Sunday, forecasts indicate that the snow cover here will increase by up to a meter. The ski areas in southern Austria also got a fresh coat of paint. Today the snow line is still very high (1300-1800 metres), but on Sunday the snow line will drop to about 1000 metres. On Sunday, cold air will flow everywhere in the Alpine region thanks to a cold front. This also allows the Austrian valleys to turn white again.
