In June, filming for Thor: Love and Thunder was completed, but now it appears that the cast is back in reshoot mode. The movie was delayed by Marvel for a few months, leaving time to shoot additional scenes. The new batch of images shows that the movie may contain flashbacks to Thor: The Dark World.
The photos show Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman dressed up as their characters Thor and Jane. They wear clothes and wigs similar to what they wore in the deleted scenes from Thor: The Dark World.
A potential flashback to Thor: The Dark World might explain why Jane Foster hasn’t appeared in other Marvel films after The Dark World. The flashback will reportedly feature scenes of Jane and Thor arguing. What this fight has to do with the story of Thor: Love and Thunder is still unknown.
Guardians of the Galaxy in Love and Thunder
In addition to Jane Foster, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) will also return in Thor: Love and Thunder. Furthermore, Guardians of the Galaxy, including Star-Lord, Drax, and Nebula, will also be featured in the new Thor movie.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in the United States on July 8, 2022. The film is part of Phase 4 of the MCU.
