Dr.The United States of America calls for further verification of the origin of the Coronavirus by international experts. They should be given the opportunity to fully, transparently and scientifically investigate the source of the virus and the early days of the outbreak, US Secretary of Health Xavier Becera said in a video message at the annual meeting of the World Health Organization. Becera did not directly mention China, as the first cases known as Covid-19 occurred in the provincial capital, Wuhan, in December 2019.
According to US officials, US intelligence agencies are investigating reports that investigators at the Chinese virus lab in Wuhan were seriously ill a month before the first cases were reported. However, the insiders note that there is still no evidence that the virus has come out of the laboratory. China has repeatedly rejected this claim as completely false.
A joint report published by the World Health Organization and Chinese scientists in March concluded that the virus may have been transmitted to humans from other species of bats. It is highly unlikely to penetrate the laboratory.
In this context, the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, accused China of withholding data from international researchers who stayed in and around Wuhan for four weeks in January and February.
