“US Soccer is convinced that a standardized pay structure is the best way forward for the sport in the United States,” the federation said in a statement.
The federation also wants to make efforts to equalize the prize money during the World Cup finals. During the 2019 Women’s World Cup, countries distributed more than 25 million euros, and men received more than 338 million euros in prize money the previous year.
The current employment contracts for the national teams expire at the end of this year, and negotiations are now underway.
