The basics in brief

  • Allison Scott went hiking in California with her boyfriend.
  • They made an unexpected discovery!
  • They meet Eric who has been wandering in the wilderness for two weeks.
  • Thanks to the couple’s help, he was taken to the hospital.

Allison Scott went hiking in California with her boyfriend in late November. Suddenly a plane flew over them at a low altitude. A little later, they heard a call for help.

Surprised, the couple were looking around and spotting a man. As they told the American magazine “People”, he was in big trouble. “He had a water bottle tied to a stick to get attention,” says Scott.

The two immediately rushed to the man and called the emergency services. When they arrive, the man named Eric says he has been away for two weeks. He left his home without a cell phone and then got lost in the wilderness.

Only thanks to a half-empty saucepan did he survive at all. The man walked so much that his feet were all swollen and sore. He said it was a “Thanksgiving miracle”.

Eric was flown to hospital by helicopter with only minor injuries. The three promised to keep in touch.
