A team from De Rips’ Signi Search Dogs Foundation will head to Morocco on Wednesday afternoon to help after the devastating earthquake. A spokesperson for the organization says it involves a team of six people and four dogs. “It certainly makes sense to go now. In Turkey we also found people alive under the rubble twelve days later.”
The team leaves Brussels at three o’clock. Then it’s a four-hour flight. Once the team arrives, it is expected to immediately head to the disaster area.
Morocco itself did not ask Segni to come and help. The country simply does not allow all the aid because that would not be logistically appropriate. “In principle, you prefer to make a call from the country itself. This was also the case with Turkey at that time. But if the country does not make a call, you can check locally what options are available. This is easier for you,” explains the spokesman. .
Segni also helped in Türkiye, which was hit by a devastating earthquake in February.
