One of the most beautiful stories happened in Cologne, and it contributed to bringing nations together. It all started with a selfie taken by five German fans. A seemingly normal shot during the European Championship ceremony. But the cell phone with which the photo was taken does not belong to the residents of Cologne. It is owned by Kieran, the Scot who traveled to Cologne to participate in the match against Switzerland (1-1).
At the big football party, he forgot his cell phone in the toilet – and perhaps did not expect to find it again in the crowd and noise among thousands of fans. But then everything went differently: Cologne residents found the cell phone and handed it over. Kieran got his phone back the next day, along with a funny selfie of the group.
Scottish fans of the Tartan Army then posted the story with a picture on the 'X': “Kieran left his cell phone in the toilet block. These German fans found it, took a selfie and then gave it to the police. He's got his phone back now. What a country. Did Can we find those fans?”

The post already has 4.6 million views. And now the online search for honest finders is successful. One of them is Caro, who spoke to Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger about the campaign. A school friend saw the call and wrote: “Caro, you're wanted!” On Friday, she created an account and was overwhelmed by the buzz. “I am now receiving a lot of messages from all sides,” she told the newspaper.
She has now also responded to the 'X' account of the 'Tartan Army': 'For the sake of German-Scottish friendship,' said the young man from Cologne. “We had a great experience with the Scottish fans at the match.”
And it seems the story is not over yet: In another post, Scottish fans wrote: “The heroes who found Kieran's phone and took this selfie have been found, Kieran is not with 'X', but his wife!” Caro commented on the post: “It's great that we found each other. My friends and I would love to talk to you about this crazy story!”
