The Football League’s Darts Association have announced that their team will also return to Ahoy next year. This is the sixth time that Rotterdam has hosted the prestigious darts tournament which Michael van Gerwen won this year.

The Premier League has come to Ahoy annually since 2016, with exceptions for 2020 and 2021. The PDC has yet to announce dates for next year.

Circus of Darts will also remain mainly in the UK in 2023. With the exception of Rotterdam, only Berlin (Germany) and Dublin (Ireland) are excluded. Wales has one round with Cardiff, just as Northern Ireland has one with Belfast. Aberdeen and Glasgow are the host cities in Scotland.

Within England, Birmingham, Brighton, Exeter, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield are the host cities.

This year, the English Premier League was played via a new format for the first time. During the sixteen rounds, each of the eight participants played a mini-tournament. After four quarter-final matches, two semi-finals and one final, the winner of the day was awarded €12,000. In addition, the winner gets five ranking points. The losing finalist receives three and the semi-finalist receives two. Previously, darts players played one match per round and received points for wins or draws. The four best darts players in the final score got into action during the final evening. Van Gerwen eventually beat Joe Cullen in the final fight.
