    The minister says China’s rulers are committing crimes against humanity and genocide in Xinjiang. They will be directed against the Uyghurs, but also against other minorities.

    Pompeo serves under Republican President Trump, who is to be succeeded by Democrat Biden on Wednesday. During his election campaign, his spokesperson described dealings with the Uyghurs as genocide.
