On the night of Sunday 7 to Monday 8 February, the annual Super Bowl Championship will be shown on TV again. The American Football Season Final is a real sight every year with lots of pre- and during-game entertainment as well as sports. It starts at 12:30 am and can be watched on ESPN, ESPN6, and BBC One.
Difference
For the second year in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs reached the Super Bowl. Last year, The Chiefs won. The opponent is Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where star player and six-time winner Tom Brady played for the first time this year.
Playground
The pirates play in their home playground in Tampa, Florida. Never before in Super Bowl’s fifty-year history. The site is determined years in advance. It is the 55th Super Bowl, which is why it is also called the “Super Bowl LV”.
Dutch Super Bowl time
Due to the difference in timing with the United States, the Super Bowl can always be seen in the Netherlands at night. The start of the match at 00:30 Dutch time. Before that, the Super Bowl will open with a stunning parade and US national anthem.
Show the first half
Halfway through the match, there is a famous artist who performs during what is called a halftime show. This year it is The Weeknd, the Canadian artist who hit big last year with Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears.

Super Bowl is broadcast in the Netherlands by ESPN, former FOX Sports. The sports match will be shown with Dutch commentary on the main channel. For subscribers to ESPN International, ESPN6 offers American Super Bowl coverage. BBC One, which is free in the Netherlands, also broadcasts the Super Bowl live on TV.
