Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announces additional cruises from New York, Los Angeles, Port Canaveral and Miami. In addition, NCL has confirmed that its newest and innovative vessel, Norwegian Encore, will replace the Norwegian Bliss in Alaska this summer.

As part of its restart plan, NCL announces the highly anticipated return from Miami, the cruise capital of the world, with the Norwegian Gems. Norwegian Gem will have seven-day cruises to the Caribbean starting August 15, 2021 and a four-day cruise to the Bahamas in November. NCL has also opened sales of additional cruises to Bermuda, starting September 26, 2021 from New York with Norwegian Breakaway. Mexican Riviera on October 24, 2021 from Los Angeles aboard Norwegian Bliss; and the Caribbean on November 13, 2021 from Port Canaveral, Florida with Norwegian Escape.

In addition, Norwegian Encore—the newest ship in the fleet—will make its West Coast debut, replacing the Norwegian Bliss as previously announced for the 2021 summer cruise season. Norwegian Encore sails from Seattle to the ports of Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Icy. • Strait Point in Alaska, where travelers enjoy great views of Endicott Arm, Dawes Glacier or Glacier Bay. Guests and travel partners with affected reservations will be contacted directly. All flights in the United States are subject to authorization from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“With these additional itineraries, we are providing passengers with more opportunities to sail from some of their favorite ports and to some of their favorite destinations,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We are so excited to be sailing again in the US and to be the first to set sail on our newest and most beautiful boat Norwegian Encore. We can reintroduce it to our guests and invite them to experience its world-class offerings when it debuts in Seattle and Alaska.”

NCL’s peace of mind policy remains in effect for guests sailing on cruises with departure dates until October 31, 2021. These guests have the flexibility to cancel their cruise 15 days prior to departure. Those who take advantage of the Peace of Mind policy will receive a full refund in the form of a future cruise credit that can be applied to any cruise through December 31, 2022.

NCL, in collaboration with destination partners and leading experts from the Sail Safe Global Health and Wellness Council, will continue to work on the realignment of the fleet. The Board of Directors regularly reviews the Sail Safe™ health and safety program’s comprehensive protocols and makes science-based decisions to protect guests, crew, and destinations the company visits. As additional information becomes available, updates will be posted on ncl.com/sail-safe. Travelers looking for the latest details on NCL transfer can click here.
