On the first day of the World Relay Championships at Thomas A. Robinson National in Nassau, Bahamas, Holland immediately scored a goal. The mixed 4×400 meter team took first place with a time of 03.12.16 – thus qualifying for the Olympic Games.

With lead runner Isaiah Bors, Leke Klavier in second, Isaiah Klein-Eckink in third, and Femke Paul in second, the Netherlands had an outstanding performance. Boer starts with a gap of 47.28 and appears to have changed to fifth place. Clavier takes over and takes second place on the 200 meter line. At the second corner, Claver passed the leader Jamaica, the first to make the change and set a very fast time of 49.57. Klein Eckink retains first place with a time of 45.77. Finally, Jamaica's leader, Paul, escaped like nothing in a time of 49.54 and was the first to cross the finish line breaststroke on behalf of the Netherlands in a final time of 03.12.16. The United States had the fastest time of the evening in the second series and with it the championship record.

Nketia Sidhu, Marije van Honensteen, Minky Bishops and Tassa Jia cross the finish line in second place with a time of 42.88 – securing a place in the Olympics. With this high performance they are also sixth in total.
