Moses Yarborough, November 9, 2021

Several countries in Asia saw a sudden rise in the Netflix ISP Multi-Service Speed Index in October, our monthly update to internet service providers that offer the best prime-time Netflix streaming experience.

In Vietnam, cable television increased from Saigontourist 0.6 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps and Viettel by 0.4 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps. Japan’s VECTANT also increased 0.6 Mbps to 2.6 Mbps, while the NTTPC InfoSphere service increased 0.4 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps.

PLDT and Royal Cable in the Philippines increased by 0.4Mbps to 3.4Mbps and 3Mbps, respectively. In Indonesia, XL Home and Telkom improved by 0.4Mbps to 3.4Mbps and 1.8Mbps, respectively. After dropping last month, Taiwan Mobile site jumped 0.4Mbps to 3Mbps.

Also after dropping last month, CableColor in Guatemala grew 0.4 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps. Elsewhere in Latin America, Colombia’s Tego increased 0.4 Mbps to 3.2 Mbps.

After completing improvements for the month, Bell Canada – Fiber Optic jumped 0.4 Mbps to 3.6 Mbps.

The best performing ISPs scored 3.8 Mbps in October, up from 3.6 Mbps in September.

Three ISPs experienced a decline in the last month. Austrian A1 dropped 0.2 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps. In South Africa, Telkom dropped by 0.2 Mbps to 2.6 Mbps. TEVISAT in Honduras dropped 0.2 Mbps to 2 Mbps.

In October, at least 31 countries and territories were the best performers. The returned names are Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States. New additions included Brazil, Canada, Finland, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Panama, Paraguay and South Korea. All regions recorded an average speed of 3.6 Mbps.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of Netflix’s prime-time performance on a particular ISP and not the general performance of other services/data that may travel over the ISP’s network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, faster start times, and fewer interruptions. We have also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: visit https://FAST.com In any Internet browser or download the FAST file speed testiOS from Android Application.
