Cristiano Ronaldo is in trouble with the police due to a fan outburst. After the bankruptcy against Everton, the Manchester United star slapped a mobile phone from a spectator’s hand. Then he regrets the panic and apologizes via Instagram.

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo threatens trouble with the police. Investigations have begun into Ronaldo’s brief rage after the 1-0 defeat to Everton, and the Manchester United star will also be questioned. This was confirmed by the Liverpool police on Sunday.

The 37-year-old striker – as can be seen in photos on social media – slapped a mobile phone from a fan’s hand as he left the Goodison Park grounds on Saturday in frustration with the bankruptcy of the defeated contenders.

Ronaldo regretted the scene shortly thereafter. “It is never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments like the ones we are going through now,” Ronaldo said. “However, we must always be respectful and patient and set an example for all young people who love the beautiful game.” The Portuguese shared on Instagram: “I would like to apologize for my fear and – if possible – invite the fans to a match at Old Trafford.” He sees his gesture of apology as “a sign of fair play and sportsmanship”.

Manchester United are also investigating the incident. As they occupy seventh place in the table, the English record champions are now closer and closer to qualifying for the European Cup. Merseyside Police in charge confirmed the investigation on Sunday. The statement, which was reported by British media, said the authority wanted to speak to all parties involved.

Ronaldo went bankrupt against Everton. When he came off the field with his socks rolled down, two tears appeared in his left leg. His struggle was unsuccessful: he had a chance to equalize in the 90th minute, but his shot from close range was saved by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
