Unvaccinated employees are also not welcome at the Dutch branch of US streaming company Netflix.

Leaseplan employees will not be required to present a certificate of vaccination upon arrival at the office. There will be no control, according to the company at fed.

Compulsory injections are also controversial in health care settings. In Italy, France and Belgium, for example, health care workers must be vaccinated. The vaccination rate in health care institutions is also high. There are also voices in The Hague to give healthcare institutions the opportunity to transfer non-vaccinated staff. There is no talk yet of a vaccination obligation for companies like the rental car company.

The FNV union is furious in the papers about Leaseplan’s vaccination commitment. Vice President Kitty Jong does not want employers to “abuse their positions of power” by forcing employees, directly or indirectly, to vaccinate. According to her, this conflicts with the right to privacy and the right to bodily integrity. If a democratically elected government, with the approval of the House of Representatives, opts for compulsory vaccination, that is a thing. But if the employer takes the right to oblige employees, this is frowned upon. The union would like to discuss the matter with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
